= The US State Department will formally designate the Boko Haram sect as a foreign terrorist organization today, according to congressional sources.

= A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Alhaji  Ahmed  Yayale, has resigned his position as the Chairman of the Presidential Committee of Experts on Inter-Professional Relationship in the Public Sector.

= The House of Representatives, has set machinery in motion to probe alleged shady $6.8 billion oil deal between the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Swiss oil dealers.

= Despite his suspension by the Peoples’ Democratic Party, Olagunsoye  Oyinlola has written to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) asking the commission to reflect his name as the authentic national secretary of the PDP.

= Voters in Anambra State have been asked to be aware of the creation of extra 1,973 polling units in the state, which is an addition to the existing 4,608 thereby bringing the number of polling points to 6,581 ahead of the Saturday’s governorship election.
