#HEADLINES

= The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said it distributed relief materials in parts of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe to cushion the effect of the State of Emergency imposed on the States.

= The House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee investigating the Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund has queried the management of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) over the $326 million payment to Global West Specialist Vessels Limited, a company purportedly owned by ex- militant leader, Chief Government Ekpemupolo also known as Tompolo. 

= The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has revoked a plot of land in the highbrow Maitama District, Abuja, said to belong to Kano State governor, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for alleged terms of violation.

= The Inspector General of Police, Mr.Mohammed Abubakar is expected to embark on a working visit to the UN in New York between Oct. 20th and 23rd.

= Italy is stepping up sea and air patrols following the deaths of hundreds of migrants sailing in overcrowded boats from North Africa.

= The head of the body tasked with destroying Syria's chemical weapons says fighting is preventing access to some sites through rebel-held areas.

= WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has slammed the movie “The Fifth Estate” which was based on the birth of his secret-leaking website, insisting it's doomed to fail in the box office. Since the film's inception, the WikiLeaks editor-in-chief has been critical of the project.
