FG ASSURES 20,000 MEGAWATTS SUPPLY OF ELECTRICITY BY 2016
The Federal Government yesterday in Abuja said it was confident that the nation's power plants would be generating 20,000 megawatts (MW) of electricity by 2016. Vice-President Namadi Sambo gave this reassurance when members of the Alumni Association of the National Institute for policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), visited him at the State House. The Federal Government also inaugurated a commitee to work out modalities for the implementation of the agreement it reached with Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU). Inaugurating the committee in Abuja, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, named the critical areas as non-skipping of CONHES 10, in line with the judgement of the National Industrial Court, including modalities for the payment of consultancy and specialist allowance for non-medical officers in the health sector.
