In all honesty, something needs to be done (and fast too) about the constant traffic and bad roads on Lagos-Ibadan expressway.People spend hours on that road and a journey that should take you say 2 hours, you end up spending as long as 7-8 hours.I remember the day I left Lagos enroute Ibadan at 4 p.m and i didn't get to Ibadan till about 12.30 a.m all because there was a church programme organised by one of the churches that has a camp on that road (you know who thay are).Don't get it wrong, I am not against churches having conventions, seminars etc but there should be an organised way of doing things without affecting those who ply that road for other reasons. Another thing is the poor state this particular expressway is in, there are massive potholes on that road, no policemen, and no streetlights! I can't count how many instances where i have heard and witnessed people being robbed in broad daylight or accidents that could have been avoided if the roads were in perfect condition. Last month, President Goodluck Jonathan inaugurated the reconstruction of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, with a pledge that the N167bn project would be completed in 48 months yet no work has commenced. When do they intend to start? Plus would these churches that atrract thousands of people on a monthly basis be relocated or would we still complain even after the road is fixed? Someone please answer....
