= Governor Abiola Ajimobi  of Oyo State has appointed 15 Special Advisers to join the newly-appointed commissioners as members of the State Executive Council.

= The House of Representatives has, passed the 2013 budget of N315 billion for the Niger Delta Development Commission.

= Also the House of Representatives has summoned service chiefs over President Goodluck Jonathan’s request to extend the emergency rule in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.

= The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, has ordered a massive deployment of police striking force, including the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, the Bomb Disposal Unit and the Police Air Wing for the governorship poll in Anambra State on Saturday.

= The embattled National Secretary of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has predicted the end of the party if he is not reinstated.
