Nigerian Communications
Commission, NCC, has threatened to sanction telecommunication service providers
in the country over poor quality of service, drop calls and unsolicited text
messages sent to subscribers. The commission issued the warning yesterday at
the Fourth Quarter meeting of the industry Consumer Advisory Forum, ICAF, in
Abuja. The Executive Commissioner in charge of Stakeholder Management, in the
commission, Mr. Okechukwu Itanyi, who addressed the press called on all service
providers to tackle the lingering and nagging issues of poor quality of service
across the country, drop calls and unsolicited short message service, SMS, usually sent to their subscribers or
face sanctions.
