of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), leaving 13 passengers dead and seven
others rescued. Mr Yakubu Dati, the General Manager, Corporate Communications,
Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) confirmed the figures of the dead and survivors in the
accident. In an update of the rescue operations, Commissioner of the Accident
Investigation Bureau (AIB); Captain Umar Muktar said all rescue operations have
been concluded. At the crash site yesterday, General Manager of Lagos State
Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA); Dr. Femi Oke-Osayintolu said that
rescue teams responded promptly and were able to rescue some of the
passengers. Meanwhile, the burial of the Late Dr. Agagu, will go on as
planned.Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State, Ebenezer
Alabi, said the family had been consulted and have decided to go ahead with the
burial as they ordered that his remains be conveyed to his home town, by road
to continue with the burial arrangement. The House Of Reps committee on aviation has ordered an investigation and I heard the Minister Of Aviation Stella Oduah said the airline had been suspended prior to this incident...hmmmm God help us.
