 Nigeria has dispatched what it called a ‘high-powered’ delegation to the West African nation of Guinea Bissau where armed gangs launched an attack on the Nigerian embassy there, last Tuesday, killing at least one person.

= The Federal Government has promised to complete, within two weeks, the ongoing rehabilitation of failed sections of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway that causes heavy traffic on the ever busy road.

= The First Lady, DAME PATIENCE JONATHAN, has congratulated believers of the Islamic faith, especially women, on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

= The Adamawa State University will no longer pay salaries to any of its lecturers, who continue with the on-going Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) industrial action, according to a statement from the Registrar of the institution, Mrs. JINATU GARNVWA.

= Ex-Liberian President CHARLES TAYLOR has arrived in the UK to serve the remainder of his 50-year prison sentence for war crimes.

= The Libyan man ABU ANAS AL-LIBY who was seized earlier this month in a US raid in Tripoli has been transferred to the US to face charges in New York.
