AND THE STRIKES KEEP COMING....

It seems every department, asssociation, agency, ministry in this country is on strike. From ASUU to ASUP to NANS to NARD and so many more. Now this body is the one that scares me the most, everytime they go on strike the whole economy comes to a standstill. The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has threatened to stop the distribution of petroleum products accross the country if the Federal Government fails to implement the agreement reached with the Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU).Although no specific date has been fixed for the commencement of the solidarity strike, the union said it became necessary in view of the lingering ASUU crisis which the government has failed to resolve in the last three months.NUPENG President, Igwe Achese, who spoke at the union's National Administrative Council blamed the crisis on the governments failure to honour agreements lamenting that this has led to almost all sectors of the economy going on strike since the beginning of the year. Achese also blamed the Ministry of Labour for failing in its responsibility to check the breakdown and abuse of laws governing industrial relations practice in the country by employers including the government. Please oh the fear of NUPENG is the beginning of wisdom.....lol
